A diabetes check-up, sometimes called a diabetes screening or health check, is a routine visit with your healthcare provider to see how your body is managing blood sugar. These check-ups help catch diabetes early, keep track of your health if you already have diabetes, and make sure you’re getting the care you need. In simple terms, it’s a way to make sure your blood sugar isn’t running too high and to help you stay as healthy as possible.
Anyone! But especially if diabetes runs in your family, you’re carrying a bit of extra weight, or you’ve noticed things like always being thirsty always or wanting to eat more. And if you already have diabetes, these check-ups are key to staying healthy and controlled.
You’ll have a blood test which includes fasting blood sugar, HBA1c, lipid profile and creatinine. You are requested to meet our internal medicine specialist once the report is ready. If you are diabetic, you may be asked to meet our Diabetes Educator to have a consultation. It’s all quick and straightforward.
There are lots of options! Hospitals, clinics, and special diabetes centers are all over Dubai. Both government and private clinics offer these services, so you can choose what’s most convenient.
Yes. For Fasting Blood sugar tests mean you shouldn’t eat for 8–10 hours beforehand.
At JTS Medical Centre, During the Diabetes Awareness Month, check up will cost you AED 175. Otherwise, prices can vary. Some insurance plans cover diabetes checks, so it’s better to check your eligibility with insurance desk.
It depends on your health and risk factors. If you have diabetes or are at higher risk, your doctor will tell you how often to come in—sometimes every few months, sometimes once a year.
Bring any medical records you have, a list of any medicine you take, your Emirates ID and health insurance card.
Absolutely! Kids who are at risk or showing signs of diabetes can have a check-up too.
