JTS Medical Centre is delighted to announce that Ms. Stephanie Karl, an esteemed Nutritionist, has joined their team of Consultants and Specialists. With a wealth of experience in the field of nutrition, Ms. Karl brings a holistic approach to her practice, focusing on the impact of diet, exercise, supplementation, and botanicals on overall health and well-being.
Having graduated with a Dip H.Sc in Nutrition from Otago University in 1985, Ms. Karl went on to complete a teaching diploma in health sciences from Christchurch College of Education in 1987. She further enhanced her expertise by completing a three-year post-graduate program specializing in sports nutrition and chronic disease from Otago University. Her thesis on maternal diet during pregnancy and its effect on breast-milk composition was published in the NZ Nutrition Journal in 2005, earning her a Master’s in Science (nutrition).
Throughout her career, Ms. Karl has made significant contributions to the field of nutrition. She has been involved in health consultation, promotion, and education in the UK, New Zealand, and the UAE for the past eight years. Her extensive knowledge and experience have led to her becoming a frequent guest speaker at health conferences and forums, where she addresses topics such as obesity, diabetes, food intolerance, and women’s anti-aging health and hormone issues. She is a prolific writer, contributing to local newspapers and magazines, and is often featured as a guest on radio and television programs.
Ms. Karl’s previous assignment in Dubai was at a functional medicine clinic, where she focused on identifying the underlying causes of diseases and the significant impact that food and lifestyle have on making corrections. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of areas, including weight management, diabetes (type 1 and 2), food allergies and intolerance, good gut health and liver detoxification, women’s health (anti-aging and hormone balancing, PCOS, and endometriosis), chronic fatigue, low energy and sleep disorders, cardiovascular and hypertension, eczema management, thyroid health, sports nutrition, and autism spectrum and hyperactivity disorders.
